Intelligent Bridge System (IBS V.1)

IBS is only our terminology; how does it work? IBS is a software capability that we add to our ethernet which running more than 2 networks without causing any packet data collisions within. In other words, all of our wireless backbone will be in the ethernet, and there will be no looping and no increasing in number of existing hops.

Why do we adopt IBS? We can simply use OSPF in our network, but that will make the routing path longer and We do not use Spanning Tree Protocol because it can makes trouble to have a good control over the network. IBS runs in bridging mode, so that all networks are transparent within the paths.

From our experience serving our clients, one of the major problem in several area is the frequent lightning strikes. From that, we learn not to curse the nature but instead we learn to understand it.

Besides using a grounding for lightning, we also find a problem with a power surge that destroyed our equipment. For that we added new capabilities to our POP network electricity. Our main POP backbone is designed to restrain electric surge up to 1100 Joules and maximum current spike up to 6000 V. Not just only that, all of our clients will be provided with power outlets capable of restraining about 6000 V current spike.
